RE: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & Gizmos

I use these in the upper cabinets over our bed in our Jayco. Three of them fit nicely and it makes it easy to keep his and hers undies and PJ's separate. I use the middle basket for seasonal clothing. I can then tote them in the house for laundry and back out to the TT. They are on sale at CW. They remind me of our old canvas tent and it brings back good memories. The link wouldn't post correctly - Item #34592 - Folding Basket

RE: Back up camera for TT?

We also purchased our back up camera off ebay. We love it. We have our TT and a car hauler with a camera on each and a quick disconnect for the trailer. We just plug in depending on which trailer we hook up. It has sound so it is easy to give back up directions. The monitor is nice and we leave it on when traveling so we can see what is behind us. The install was pretty straight forward and DH is pretty handy with cars. The ebay seller is a super nice guy and helped us figure out what we needed. The equipment is quality and we are pleased. 7" COLOR REAR VIEW BACKUP CAMERA SYSTEM

Sweet little camper. Do you have any pics of the inside? Love those well taken care of vintage TT's!

RE: Generators

We went with two Honda 2000's. We looked at the 3000 but decided against it due to the weight (we aren't getting any younger). We find that if we are camping at high elevations we only need one generator and have never run out of gas over a weekend. Two run anything we have in our camper. We also use the generators for other things around our ranch so the small size comes in handy for us.

RE: Please Turn Down The Television!

We don't watch TV when camping. The whole reason we are out there is to enjoy the park. Our dog is always under our control and is not allowed to bark and rarely does. He is well over 100 lbs. and is very well behaved because we make sure he is. What has happened to responsibility?

RE: Anyone slowing down to save on gas?

At 60 mph on interstate we get 10.5 mpg in calm conditions.

RE: Lost A Window While Driving!

Wow, after seeing how many times this has happened, I think the manufacturers may want to explore a new design. Seems to be costing a lot of people a lot of money.

RE: Whos says them cheap little TT grills are no good?

We have used ours several times and DH swears it cooks better than our expensive one at home. Just a pain to clean. We have a storage case for ours and it keeps everything together and neat.

RE: Well, made the decision to sell...

I dunno, we just got back from a 1500 mi round trip to N California Redwoods. We spent just about $722 on diesel and averaged 10 to 11 mi per gallon in our paid for 96 Ford. We did a lot of sight seeing. We paid not that much more than going gas prices and filled up a couple times in Oregon where it was cheaper. Spent about $100 on an RV site and saw tons of awesome sights. Had home cooked meals every day and showers in the privacy of a clean TT with no doubts as to who and what has been in there. I will take RVing to staying in a decent motel at over $100 a night on average and eating fast food any day.

Definitely replace with an upgrade. No more worries.

RE: Passport Leaking AGAIN -4TH TIME

Sounds like the manufacturers quality control is suspect.

RE: anyone else's weekend plans washed out?

We enjoyed a trip to Northern California. Looked as if it would rain all weekend but never did. We did get a bit of rain on the way home, south of San Francisco. We had a nice trip though.

RE: Need Information 27BH G2

We have the same problem with our 23FB. It was a staple coming up. DH pulled the floor vent and looked under vinyl (it's not glued down). Used a screwdriver to pop the staple loose and replaced the vent. Pretty easy fix if you have the access. Good to catch it before it pops through the vinyl flooring and easier than taking it to the dealer.

RE: how many of you have generators?

How do we justify the expense? Easy. We don't like campgrounds. We do like electricity. I TOTALLY agree! :B I also totally agree. We have also used our older generator during two earthquakes and we get power outages several times a year. We have used it for running tools while working on our property. DH uses the older gen (and now the Honda)for his excursions to the drag strip. We will use our two Honda EU 2000's a lot as they are much easier to cart around.
